    Home / Military Hospital
    LEPL Military Hospital of the Defence Ministry of Georgia was established on the base of the Decree #483 of the Georgian President dated August 15, 2006. Military Hospital is a civilian-military institution. Its functioning rules are defined under the regulations approved by the Order #297 of the Defence Minister dated October 25, 2006 and applicable legislation of Georgia. The Hospital is located in the city of Gori on the 40 minutes` distance from Tbilisi city downtown. This is a medical institution entirely meeting the US-Euro standards.

    The civilian-military institution is constructed with highly advanced technologies and equipped with all the technical facilities where all kinds of sanitary norms are fully observed. The modern medical equipment used by the Hospital allows carrying out of all kinds of medical tasks, examinations or treatments.

    under the regulations approved by the Order #297 of the Minister of Defence dated October 25, 2006 and applicable legislation of Georgia. The Hospital is located in the city of Gori within the 40 minutes` distance from Tbilisi city downtown. This is a medical institution entirely meeting the US-European standards.  

    The civil-military institution is constructed with highly advanced technologies and equipped with all the technical facilities where all kinds of sanitary norms are fully observed.  The modern medical equipment used by the Hospital allows carrying out of all sorts of medical tasks, examinations or treatments.

    The Military Hospital provides for medical service to the public and military sectors of the Ministry of Defence of Georgia; to the Ministry’s retired personnel and their family members; to ordinary citizens from any parts of the country including foreigners in accordance with the Georgian legislation.

    Hospital
    is staffed by qualified medical personnel, those who have gained experience in the Tbilisi-based major clinics. Besides, the Hospital administration is active to invite leading Georgian and foreign specialists and concludes contracts with them. The Hospital selects its personnel on the basis of strict contest rules.

    Except for the medical service, the medical institution carries out scientific and pedagogical activities. The Hospital administration also schedules to implement professional development programs through which Medical University students will be able to undergo practical course, along with undergraduates who will be allowed to raise professional qualification there.
     

    The structure of Medical Hospital includes departments which are divided into several sectors. They are the following:

    Department of Surgery:

    1. Surgical Section (includes traumatology, orthopaedics, neurosurgery, angiology, ophthalmology and surgery infection sectors );

    2. Anaesthetic Department;

    It is important to mention that the Hospital is properly equipped to be able to lead operations by various methods like laparoscopy, arthroscopy and laser method, the later used for so called bloodless operations. 

    Internal Medicine Department:

    1. General Therapy Section (cardiology, endocrinology, phthisiology, rheumatology, allergology, dermatology and sexually transmitted diseases sectors);

    2. Neurology Section (psychiatry and psychology);

    3. Infection Section;

    4. Medical Rehabilitation Section;

    5. Dialyze Program. 

    Critical and Emergency Medicine Department:

    1. Critical Medicine Section;

    2. Emergency Assistance Section.

    The latter one is modern standard reception ward the function of which is to differentiate patients according to diseases, to provide them with urgent diagnostics and subsequent treatment activities. The sector includes urgent assistance lobby, “Stationary” and “Observation” ward, where patients can stay for 24 hours. 

    Ambulatory-Policlinic Department: 

    The department incorporates radiology and internal examination (roentgenology, ultra-sonography, tomography, endoscope) cabinets including cabinets of doctors of almost all profiles. 

    Except for the above mentioned departments, the Hospital’s structure includes the following services: pathology and anatomy group service, epidemic supervisor group service, chemist shop, laboratory and blood bank. 

    Along with intensive treatment activities, one of the priority functions of the Hospital is take appropriate care of the patients. For this reason institute of “Assistant Nurse” (very popular direction in the west) is operating in the ambulance. In consideration of advanced treatment technologies introduced for surgical patients at the hospital, staff units of paramedics were set up for the mentioned profiles. With the aim to consistently enhancing of professional qualification and adopting of advanced medicine technologies, the Hospital’s administration provides its personnel with training courses and seminars at the leading clinics in Georgia and abroad. Moreover, the Hospital’s management supplies its personnel with medical literature, organizes medical conferences. It is also busy with drafting of methodological guideline documents.

    There are services in the Hospital, which, through their coordinating operation, insure supplying of medical information; drafting of methodological documentation (protocols, guidelines); control on observation of medical assistance quality and standards; monitoring on the management of medical documentation and on the fulfilment of  state and internal standards (internal audit). Management of quality provision environment means to regularly inform and educate the personnel. 

    The Hospital elaborates diseases management protocols, which are regularly presented at regular  meetings. Every Month discussions of interesting cases are held at the Hospital with the participation of personnel.
