The Sport Team of II Infantry Brigade of GAF achieved victory in the team competition. The tournament was held on the IV Infantry Brigade Base (borough of Vaziani) on 14-15 July. 6 teams composed of rugby players from different subunits of GAF participated in the competition. In the final part, the II Infantry and I Artillery Brigade` military servants opposed each other. The game was refereed by the international-level arbitrators from “Rugby Union”. The winner teams were awarded with medals and Transitional Cup. The team competition in rugby in the Georgian Armed Forces has been held for the second time. According to the tournament organizer, Deputy Chief of the Sports and Fitness Complex Service of Administrative Department Lieutenant Revaz Kiladze, competition in rugby will be held every year. “Organizing of such kind of competitions aims at promoting the sound and healthy way of living”, stated Revaz Kiladze. The sport team of GAF will be staffed by the best military servants revealed during the tournament, which, upon the Rugby Union’s invitation, will take part in annual summer rugby tournament “Rugby of Sand” scheduled to be organized on 14-15 August in Batumi.
